Retiring Class of 2025 Honoured at Gala
On May 22, the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ (ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½) came together to honour the Retiring Class of 2025. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ staff, trustees, and esteemed guests gathered at the Provencher Ballroom in the Fort Garry Hotel to celebrate the contributions of 92 retiring staff members. Among them, 39 colleagues were present to partake in the festivities.
Superintendent Christian Michalik expressed deep gratitude, saying, “We gather to celebrate an extraordinary group of individuals—our retirees—who have dedicated their time, energy, and hearts to public education and in whole or in part, to the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. Your contributions have been instrumental in making our schools places of caring, curiosity, and possibility. As you embark on your next chapter into retirement, know that your influence extends far beyond the classrooms, schools, and communities you have nurtured.”
Trustee Irene Nordheim brought a mix of humour and heart to the evening’s program. With her signature wit, she shared light-hearted reflections that had the room laughing, followed by heartfelt words that reminded everyone of the meaningful impact each retiree made throughout their careers. Her remarks struck the perfect balance between celebration and sentiment, capturing the spirit of the evening.
The evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and a strong sense of camaraderie. Guests savoured a delicious dinner, posed for fun keepsake photos at the 3Clicks Photo Booth, and were gifted elegant rose bouquets generously provided by McDiarmid Flowers. A PowerPoint presentation honoured each retiree’s years of service and shared glimpses into their personal journeys, offering a heartfelt tribute to their lasting impact.
