What made you choose to study the MBA and MSc Business Analytics with ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Online?
I chose to study with ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Online because of the flexibility of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s online programmes which allows me to continue with my normal work schedule and read at my convenience. The flexibility in payments also allows me to purchase papers when I get the funds and gives me enough time (up to eight years or more) to mobilise resources and complete my programme based on the availability of resources. The reputation of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ was also a factor, as it has a good global ranking and has existed for over 200 years. I needed a post-graduate qualification from a global university that has a better reputation than the local (Ugandan) universities.
The relevancy of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ programmes also spoke to me. When I finished the MBA, I signed up for the second master’s programme (MSc Business Analytics) due to the relevance of data analytics in addressing current business needs. I saw it as an opportunity to acquire the skills necessary in the current business environment, as well as increase my competitiveness in the job market.
Overall, how has your experience studying online been so far?
I have had an exciting experience since I can read at my convenience. I have a very busy schedule, so it was difficult to study in a programme with physical classes following a specific schedule. With the online programme, I can read whenever I get time, from wherever I am, using any device available.
I have also enjoyed the flexibility in examinations where I can write the exam from anywhere and upload the answers in 24 hours. The take-at-home exam has been convenient enabling me to write the exam from wherever I am.
What aspects of your degree really appeal to you?
The reading materials are relevant and resonate with the practical challenges experienced in organisations. I find the content relevant to the modern challenges I face in my career and business. The notes and reference textbooks have been well chosen to satisfy my needs as a student. The assessments are challenging enough to bring out the best in me as a student by ensuring that I relate the notes to practical real-world situations.
What impact has your degree had on your career so far?
The MBA enhanced my competitiveness at work and resulted in a promotion.
What challenges have you faced while studying and has the flexible nature of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Online helped with any of these challenges?
My biggest problem was a lack of time to attend physical classes, which has been resolved by the online programme.
What would you say to people considering studying at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Online?
I would encourage them not to have any second thoughts about the decision to study at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Online.
