Equity in Action: ASPIRE Summer Program 2025
ASPIRE (Academic Summer Program Including Recreation and Education), a free-of-charge, equity-based program designed to help students continue to grow as learners throughout the summer. This summer marked the 12th year of the program, which ran from July 3-31.
“The ASPIRE program keeps my kids engaged,” said one caregiver. “They had a nice time learning in a fun way. They always have interesting things to share after each day.”
This year, more than 370 ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ (ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½) students joined the program for summertime fun and learning.
“Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this amazing program,” said another caregiver. “The kids’ happy faces say it all.”
The students from 19 different ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ schools gathered from Monday to Friday at five different locations — Lavallee, Victor Mager, and Frontenac Schools for the English program; and École Henri-Bergeron and École Julie-Riel for the French Immersion program.
Each day began with a nutritious breakfast before the fun began. Some highlights were a field trip to Oak Hammock Marsh, themed weeks, a visit from Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation, informative presentations about fire safety and recycling, and the wrap up party.
“We would like to sincerely thank the ASPIRE Summer Program for the excellent organization, warm atmosphere, and engaging activities,” said a third caregiver. “Our children had a wonderful time, gained new knowledge, and made great friends.”
We look forward to what ASPIRE 2026 will bring!
