Logo and Mascot Announcement
We are excited to share with you the unveiling of our new school logo — the eagle, or “Aigle” in French — a powerful symbol that emerged through thoughtful community consultation and collaboration with our divisional team.
Leading into the summer, we engaged in a ThoughtExchange process, inviting voices from across our school community to share ideas, values, and aspirations. Your input helped shape a vision that reflects who we are and what we stand for. Together with our divisional team, we explored these insights and arrived at a symbol that captures our collective spirit.
The new school logo utilizes the eagle from the interior signage in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), ensuring consistency throughout the school and reinforcing identity from within. This eagle was originally developed as part of the MPR space and learning communities in collaboration with Indigenous artist Ella Fontaine and Number TEN Architectural Group. Their work helped shape a space that reflects Indigenous ways of knowing and being, and the eagle — a symbol of strength, love, and vision — stands at the heart of this design.
Behind the eagle, a prairie sun is placed just above the horizon. Its warm tone, recognized as both a sunrise and sunset, situates the eagle within the openness of the prairie sky and connects the design to the landscape that grounds the community. The circular form surrounding the eagle strengthens this connection, representing both the sun and the boundless sky. At the base, linear elements take shape to form the prairie lands. Through its meaningful symbolism, the logo captures the timeless reflection of both the prairie landscape and the strength of the school community.
We invite you to celebrate this new chapter with us. The Aigle will now proudly represent our school across signage, communications, and apparel. Thoughtful consideration has been given to the inclusion of our school's name, which will be featured in the lower section of the outer band of the blue circle following the naming ceremony later this school year. These visual elements serve as powerful reminders of the strength we share and the heights we aspire to reach together.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
With gratitude,
ÉSCB Administration
